Would you grab a Sega Genesis model 1 cib and Sega CD model 2 lot for $112? ( comes with the extra plastic peice so the genesis wont hang off)

I really wanted a model 1 Sega CD but all you ever hear is how unreliable they are. What would you do in my shoes?

If the Sega CD is guaranteed working, it's about the going rate - especially if it comes with the extender piece. If the model 1 Genesis is a "High Definition Graphics" model it's a good deal, especially if it's CIB like you say. The only drawback is the physical appearance of the mismatched model 1 Genesis with the model 2 CD (though it's not as bad as a model 1 CD with a model 2 Genesis).

Unfortunately I waited to long and the deal went to someone else. No big thing because I really want the model 1 sega cd.

Do a lot of people on this forum have a working sega cd model 1? I would hate to spend 200 on one and have it crap out two months later.

I had a model 1 and it was the most reliable sega cd in my arsenal, but it could have been a fluke. Any time you have more moving parts the likelihood of something breaking increases.

I own a model 1 Genesis with a model 2 Sega CD but I emulate the system 95% of the time. I love having a small Playstation Classic modded (with BleemSync and Retroarch) to play a dozen different systems with thousands of games. Plus I can use a PS4 controller.
