You might want to look at 8BitDo's M30 which should be available soonish(?). Retro-bit announced a bluetooth receiver, but it's not yet available to the best of my knowledge. The 2.4GHz radios in the M30 probably introduce less latency, if that's a concern.

I have the original first party wireless controllers are IR, which works well as long as a) you have line of site to the front of the console and b) you keep the controller pointed in the general direction of the receiver. I haven't really used them since the 90s, but I remember them being not as bad as you'll typically read. I used them to play just about everything SSFII, Road Rash, etc. The only other widely available wireless controllers from that generation were the Acclaim DUAL TURBO, which were also IR. IIRC, radio based controllers weren't really a thing until the Nintendo Wavebird for the GameCube, so you won't find anything from the Genesis era better than IR.

US Sega CD Games: 100% (149/149)
US Sega CD Consoles: 100% (5/5)
US Sega CD Books: 84% (21/25)

Giancarlo, do you have, do you have a the receiver already? I have some new old stock, which includes at least one wireless controller, but no receiver if I am not mistaken.

+1 on the M30. Supposed to be released in Feb 2019 and I'm looking forward to trying it out. Hopefully the pad is solid - that will make or break for me.
