One of my absolute favorite and rarest pickups to date! SEGA Channel display! This is the absolute first I have ever seen in my many years of collecting, so if you have any more information on this piece please feel free to comment as I would love to know more.

🙇‍♂️I was fortunate enough to have SEGA channel as a kid for a few months and it was one of my favorite memories with the Genesis. I mean, SEGA channel hosted up to 50+ Genesis games at any one time and titles would rotate monthly. It was literally like having a rental store right in your home. So all in all, I am very happy about this pickup as it fits absolutely perfect in the SEGA Genesis and Dreamcast gamer cave!

What are your memories with the SEGA Channel?

Wow. That's really cool. I've been kicking around on forums for some time and I've never seen one of these.

I intensely trawled the interwebs for years looking for obscure MD/Gen stuff and never saw or heard of that piece. Very nice find indeed, where did you come across it? How big is it? Does it have mounts to hang or is it meant to be a counter type display?

Whoa! I also had Sega Channel, absolutely loved it. That sign is rad, too. Congrats!

I figured it wasn't just me. The most I have been able to learn so far is that this particular piece is from British Columbia, Canada and may have been used at a SHAW Cable location as a display piece. It is quite possible a banner also accompanied it.

I came across it in a facebook post. An individual in Nanaimo, BC, Canada whom I purchased the piece from has a friend who works in a metal scrap yard, where he would have found it.

In Canada, I believe SHAW and Rogers would have distributed the SEGA Channel to Canadian homes. It is possible this piece may have been used at a SHAW location as a display piece. It is also possible a banner also accompanied it.

That is such a cool story, that it has likely been salvaged from a scrap metal yard.

Amazing!

My favourite is when 'Canada' is added, because no one knows the obscure names of our provinces...

Whilst sneaking into your parents house to steal their loot of hockey-memorabilia and maple-syrup I stumbled across it and just had to have it.
