Hi Regis, firstly well done, I know you really wanted this.

You are right I was sleeping.

Secondly I based the auction on the others I had seen on both SegaAge and NintendoAage. My understanding is that they are different to eBay, as standard they are based off whatever the highest bid in the thread is, the "+1" was the minimum increment of an additional bid as dballin suggests not an amount a maximum offer would increase by over an under bidder.

Drop me a PM and we will talk from there.

Thanks.

I'm just throwing my Moderator badge in here on this. Regis is a friend of mine but I have to go by SegaAge rules. This is not eBay. As such since the OP did not state this was eBay bidding rules the sales price is 975 GBP as that legitimate bid came in before the cutoff time. So, if the seller wants to cut Regis a deal in PM that is up to Dyer. But if Dyer demands Regis pays the 975 then that is why SegaAge would enforce Regis paying.

Congrats for real. Seems like a pretty cool piece. Sucks that there was some confusion over how the auction worked.

If you think about the logic of forum bidding, your max bid is there for everyone to see. If somebody wants the item they clearly have to bid higher than you. If we did ebay rules, with an obvious max bid, you could just throw $10k up front and win every auction for the start price because nobody is going to bid higher than that. Unless... bids lower than the max were allowed to force up the price... in which case I could have bid 9,999 to fuck over mr 10k. That could be an interesting auction, but probably result in only last-minute snipes same as eBay.

Thank you for your explanations Dave, it was my first auction on Segaage and i confess that i was very exite and stress, this is not obvious to win one auction when you have bidders as braveheart   End of the auction in France was 4am too, I have not slept of the night   I'm really happy with it and I wish that all the others will find this game one day !!! It is a fantastic collector game, but not a part of the PAL fullset for me, and not 197th game, it is only my opinion

I'll give you that. It did seem odd that a PAL auction would end at 10 pm SA time which I believe is GMT -4 this time of year aka the middle of the night for most of the people who would be interested in this sans Braveheart. As long as buyer and seller are both happy that's all that counts right? Seems to be the case here.

After working out the confusion with the auction this has been sold to rg010803.

With regard to the end time it was difficult I had potential bidders all over the world and there was a convenient time for all. I had hoped that sniping wouldn't be a big thing and didn't see the need for an automatic extension bit it didn't play out that way.

I also thought that there would be less hassle selling here and that wasn't necessarily the case either.

Anyway deal done and we are both happy.

Lock it up.
